Events & Farm Happenings
Looking for a way to add decoration to a table top, a wall space or more? Look no further, head out to Piscasaw Gardens and join us for a fall wreath making class. We will be taking fresh greens such as salal, huckleberry, rosemary, eucalyptus and binding them to a metal wreath frame, the wreath materials will vary month to month. Our designers will be leading you through this hands-on class. You can choose a unique pattern for your design and even add in fun touches of dried florals to make your wreath unique.
These arrangements will then naturally dry on the wreath frame and will last throughout the fall season. The addition of the fresh to dried herbs helps the wreath maintain a fresh herby fall scent for several weeks to months. If the wreath is designed to have a center space, gourds or candles can be placed into the center to make a table-top centerpiece. The design options are endless!
We will have gourds, mini pumpkins, large pumpkins, popcorn, light refreshments and other farm items available for purchase during the workshop.
This is a great chance for you to grab your girlfriends, your favorite bottle of wine, and head out to the farm! The class is open to all age groups, but this class may be hard for small hands. There is plenty of space on our farm to spread out and relax with your gal group, your family, or for date night.
If making a wreath is not in your wheel house, don't fret, you can also purchase finished greenery wreaths. If the class time does not work for you but you still want the wreath supplies and a basic instruction booklet we are also providing grab n' go, ready made kits for you to do on your own time.
Make your own bouquet alongside our team of florists! This event was made popular in our farmers market booths across the Chicagoland area. And, now we are bringing it to our location in Harvard! We will have many buckets of our fresh cut seasonal flowers available for you to make your own bouquet from.
A bouquet consists of a mixed handful of flowers that your hand can comfortably close around for $10. Additional charges may apply if you want to make a larger handful. We will also have vases and jars available for purchase at the farm! We can accept both cash and card on-site.
Our rotation of fresh flowers will change and grow from week to week! So, every week expect something new to add into your bouquets!
Besides having our fresh make your own bouquets for sale we will have many other items for sale. We have premade bouquets, made by our florists, available for purchase. We will have our popcorn that is popped fresh daily in our onsite commercial kitchen on display. Seasonal vegetables and other products by local vendors will be available for purchase in our store too.
Be our guest, and walk our fields. We have walk paths around and through several of our fields. Get out of the house, and get outside at our farm! And, see all the fresh flowers starting to bloom.
Bring a blanket or bring a chair and sit outside on our front lawn or a shady spot under the trees. And, don't forget your picnic basket and drinks!
We have up to date field maps available in the farm store. This is a great opportunity for you to get up close and personal with where your local goodies come from.
We are running a once a month tour on the farm guided by one of our amazing crew members or farm owners for the 2021 season!
The guided tour will take you through the fields, barns, and green-house. This behind the scenes tour gives you access to normally blocked off areas of the farm. Pick the brains of our farmers as they discuss the day to day life of the farm and the history of Piscasaw Gardens.
Self Guided Tours are free, and guided tours are $10 per person and can be paid for same day inside the farm store.
